Namshi is a subgroup of the Dowayayo. They only live in Cameroon.
The Namsi Dowayoyo are farmers who grow cotton, kapok, peanuts and corn.
Their art includes handmade dolls which girls carry on their backs like real babies. They talk to the dolls and feed them. The Namsi Dowayoyo believe this helps prepare girls for child rearing. These dolls are made mainly from wood, but they also include cowrie shells, metal, leather and plant fiber.
They are mainly animistic, believing that everything has a spirit, including plants and inanimate objects.
The Namsi Dowayoyo need modern medicine and schools in their homeland.
Pray for a Holy Spirit directed spiritual revival that will give the Namsi Dowayoyo people a taste for the things of God.
Pray for Namsi Dowayoyo disciples to make more disciples.
Pray for Namsi Dowayoyo fellowships to grow in faith and in the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
